National Chest Pain Accreditation
Western Baptist Hospital is the first in the region to earn national accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. The Society of Chest Pain Centers has accredited 401 hospitals, 16 in Kentucky, for chest pain treatment.

American Heart Association Silver Award
Western Baptist has been awarded a national American Heart Association award for its treatment of heart patients. The American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines program has recognized 188 hospitals, including just three in Kentucky, for the treatment of coronary artery disease.
Top 3% 100 Top Hospitals
Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals: Performance Improvement Leaders, 5th edition, examined the performance of more than 2,800 U.S. hospitals on a variety of clinical, operational and patient safety criteria to identify the 100 winners.
Western Baptist is the only hospital in western Kentucky to receive these national rankings:
Top 3% for Breast Imaging
Of 7,569 hospitals in the U.S., only 261 have earned the American College of Radiology’s Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for quality and accurate breast testing and treatment.
Top 4% for Coronary Artery Disease Care
The American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines program has recognized 188 hospitals, including just three in Kentucky, for treatment of coronary artery disease.
Top 5% for Chest Pain Treatment
The Society of Chest Pain Centers has accredited 401 hospitals, 16 in Kentucky, for chest pain treatment.
Top 15% for Cancer Care
The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer presented the Outstanding Achievement Award to 66 hospitals, only two in Kentucky.
